Intellectual property

Despite its long history in national and international legal regulations, the field of intellectual property rights protection has only recently gained significance in Slovenia.

Due to high technological progress, the exercise of intellectual property rights has become increasingly easier, which has also resulted in numerous new forms of their violations.

Effective protection of intellectual property rights, especially with regards to patents, trademarks, designs and copyrights, has become essential in order to ensure the companies a successful business practice and their future development, as these intellectual property rights represent one of the fundamental assets of many successful companies.

On the other hand, however, in cases when the owners of the intellectual property rights attempt to unjustifiably exceed the limits of legal protection of their creation, we need to ensure the existence of free enterprise and the use of generally obtainable knowledge.

The legal role in this field is important both in consulting and property rights transfers, as well as in representing the clients in judicial and other proceedings with regards to the intellectual property rights protection on one side, and effective defence against unjustified monopolies on the other.
